Plaster of Paris (Pop)

Plaster of Paris (POP) is a quick-setting, fine white powder made by heating gypsum (calcium sulfate dihydrate) to remove water content, producing calcium sulfate hemihydrate. When mixed with water, it forms a smooth paste that hardens as it reabsorbs water and returns to its original gypsum form.
