Product Description
Starter rope is a strong, flexible cord—usually made from braided nylon or polyester—designed to manually start an engine. It is attached to a recoil starter system, which includes a pulley and spring mechanism. When the rope is pulled, it rotates the engine’s crankshaft, initiating the combustion process needed to start the engine.
Starter ropes are built to handle repeated pulling force, friction, and tension without breaking. They often have a textured or reinforced outer surface to improve grip and durability. The rope retracts automatically after each pull, thanks to the recoil spring inside the starter assembly.
Over time, starter ropes can wear out due to fraying, stretching, or exposure to moisture and dirt. Regular inspection is important, as a damaged rope can snap during use, making the engine difficult or impossible to start.
