The Bass Drum

The drum kick, also known simply as the “kick” or “bass drum,” serves as the heartbeat of modern music. It’s the powerhouse of rhythm, providing the foundation upon which all other elements build. Typically positioned at the center of a drum kit, the kick drum is a large, deep drum that produces a low, resonant sound when struck with a pedal-operated beater.
