Strip Cup(Mastitis Test Cup)

Mastitis involves stripping the first few streams of milk from each teat onto a dark surface (the "strip cup") before milking to visually check for abnormalities like flakes, clots, watery consistency, or discoloration (pinkish/yellowish/bloody), which are early signs of clinical mastitis, helping to detect infection and prevent spreading it to the bulk tank or other cows. It's a simple, crucial step in dairy management, though it only catches obvious cases, with more subtle infections needing other tests like the California Mastitis Test (CMT).
