Product Description
An air compressor pump head is the core component responsible for drawing in atmospheric air, compressing it, and discharging it into a receiver tank. It typically houses the cylinder(s), pistons, intake/exhaust valves, and cooling components to increase air pressure for tools. Functioning as the "heart" of the system, it converts mechanical energy from a motor into pneumatic pressure.Air Intake: As the piston moves down, it creates a vacuum, opening the inlet check valve to draw in fresh air.Compression: During the upward stroke, the piston reduces the volume of the trapped air, increasing its pressure (Boyle’s Law).Discharge: When cylinder pressure exceeds the receiver tank pressure, the outlet valve opens, pushing compressed air out.
