Sodium hydroxide (NaOH), commonly known as caustic soda or lye, is a highly corrosive, white solid base used extensively in manufacturing, soap-making (saponification), and drain cleaning. Its primary uses include neutralizing acids, pH adjustment, producing cellulose, and cleaning. It is dangerous, posing severe risks of skin burns and eye damage
