Oraquick – Rapid Oral Hiv‐1/2 Antibody Screening Test

OraQuick is a rapid, point‐of‐care HIV test that screens for antibodies to HIV‐1 and HIV‐2 using an oral fluid sample (from the gums) or a small blood sample. It delivers results in about 20–40 minutes without needing laboratory equipment, making it useful in clinics, outreach screening, and community health settings. The test kit includes a swab device and a test tube with reagent; after collecting the oral sample, it is placed in the tube and develops lines that indicate the result. A reactive (positive) result suggests possible exposure and must be confirmed with additional testing following local health guidelines. OraQuick is simple to use, non‐invasive, and doesn’t require needles when using the oral fluid method.
