Moisture Content Containers – Durable
Product Description
Moisture tins are used to determine the moisture content of soil in lab or field testing.
How they are used:
1. Weigh the empty tin with its lid (W1).
2. Place a soil sample into the tin and weigh again (W2).
3. Dry the sample in an oven (usually at 105–110°C for 24 hours).
4. Weigh the dry soil with the tin (W3).
5. Calculate moisture content:
Moisture Content (%) = [(W2 − W3) ÷ (W3 − W1)] × 100
This helps engineers understand soil properties for construction and design.
