The drill included is typically a combi-drill or driver-drill: capable of drilling holes in wood, metal, masonry (with proper bits), driving screws/bolts, and general drilling tasks. In some kits, the drill may also support light hammer-drill function if masonry bits are required. The grinder (angle grinder) gives you cutting, grinding, smoothing, metal or masonry surface prep — tasks that drilling alone cannot handle (e.g. cutting steel, grinding welds, cutting tiles/concrete, shaping metal/stone).
