It is up to 250 times stronger than glass and about 30 times stronger than acrylic, making it virtually unbreakable. This is why it's used in applications where security and durability are critical, such as in bullet-resistant "glass." ​Optical Clarity: Unfilled or clear grades of polycarbonate are highly transparent, with light transmission properties similar to glass (around 88% to 90%).
