Floss Cotton Candy Machine

Cotton candy machine is a compact, often colorful device designed to turn ordinary granulated sugar into the light, fluffy strands used to make cotton candy. At its center is a small spinning head (sometimes called the floss head) that heats sugar until it melts. Once liquefied, the machine rapidly spins this sugar through tiny holes using centrifugal force. As the sugar is flung outward, it cools instantly upon contact with the air, forming ultra-thin threads. These threads collect along the sides of a large circular bowl that surrounds the spinning head. The operator then uses a paper cone or stick to gather the strands, twirling it around the bowl to build up that familiar cloud-like shape.
