Effective Microorganisms (EM) is a solution containing various beneficial microorganisms found in nature and used in foods. Only natural occuring beneficial microbes are used. EM is not a pesticide, fertilizer, medicine, chemical or genetically modified. EM is added to liquid and/or solid wastes in order to improve the microbial balance of the waste and eliminate bad odours. EM help digest wastes in both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. These organisms secrete beneficial substances such as vitamins, organic acids, chelated minerals and anto-oxidants, when in contact with organic matter.
