Direct-On-Line (DOL) starter, also known as a Direct Online starter, is a method for starting a 3-phase induction motor by connecting it directly to the power supply. It's a simple and inexpensive starting method, often used for smaller motors where the inrush current isn't a major concern. The DOL starter applies the full line voltage to the motor terminals.
