Clear Grafting Tapes

Product Description
Grafting tape is a specialized material used to bind a scion (the top part of the plant with the desired fruit, flower, or leaf) to the rootstock (the base and root system) during the grafting process. Its primary purposes are:
1. Hold the Graft Firmly: It keeps the cambium layers (the thin, green growing layer just under the bark) of the scion and rootstock in tight contact. This contact is absolutely critical for the graft to heal and form a successful union.
2. Retain Moisture: It prevents the scion from drying out before the graft heals and the vascular systems connect.
3. Protect the Wound: It acts as a barrier against dirt, bacteria, and fungi that could cause the graft to fail.
4. Break Down or Stretch: Most modern grafting tapes are designed to degrade or expand on their own, preventing them from strangling the plant as it grows.
