Advanced Digital Cone Penetrometer Pro

Product Description
The cone penetrometer determines the liquid limit of soil by measuring how deep a standard cone penetrates into a soil sample under its own weight.
First, a soil paste is prepared at a specific moisture content and placed in the test cup. The metal cone is then gently lowered until it just touches the surface of the soil. Once released, the cone penetrates into the soil purely by gravity, usually for about 5 seconds
The depth of penetration is measured on a scale. This depth depends on how soft or stiff the soil is:
• Deeper penetration → soil is wetter and softer
• Shallow penetration → soil is drier and stiffer
The test is repeated with different moisture contents. A graph is then plotted to determine the moisture content at which the cone penetrates a standard depth . This point is taken as the liquid limit of the soil.
