Function of Accu-Chek Instant Strips: Blood Sample Collection: The strip has a yellow edge that draws in blood via capillary action. Requires only a tiny drop of blood (~0.6 μL). The blood is automatically pulled into the testing area. Electrochemical Reaction: The strip contains enzymes (like glucose dehydrogenase) that react with glucose in your blood. This reaction generates an electrical signal proportional to the glucose level. Result Display: The glucometer processes the signal and displays your blood glucose level in about 4 seconds. The meter provides a target range indicator (colored bar) to help you understand whether your result is low, normal, or high.
