A jigsaw is a handheld power tool used for cutting curves, shapes, and irregular lines in a variety of materials such as wood, plastic, metal, and sometimes ceramic tile. It works using a small, straight blade that moves rapidly up and down (reciprocating motion). This fast vertical movement allows the blade to “saw” through material while the user guides the tool along a marked cutting line.
