Using a Mini Prism in Surveying 1.Mount the Mini Prism Fix the mini prism securely on a prism or range pole. Make sure the prism face is clean. 2.Set Prism Height Adjust the pole height and note the prism height (PH). This value must be entered into the total station. 3.Center Over the Point Place the pole tip exactly on the ground point. Use the circular bubble to keep the pole vertical. 4.Sight the Prism From the total station, rotate and aim the telescope until the crosshairs are centered on the prism. 5.Measure Trigger the measurement. The instrument records angles and distance and computes the point coordinates. 6.Mark or Check the Point Use the displayed offsets to mark pegs or confirm positions during setting out.
